K3, JW Marriott Hotel
Aerocity, New Delhi
K3 is the newly opened JW Marriott's coffee shop. JW Marriott is situated in the freshly developed mini city called "Aerocity" near the International Airport. The hotel as a whole is very strategically located.
The coffee shop is done very well, in terms of ambiance, lighting and seating. The coffee shop has contemporary interiors with top of the line flooring, furniture, crockery and cutlery. An absolute fine dine experience. The lighting is neither too bright nor too dim. A good place to converse since the music is very soft. Since I went there in peak winters, I could tell that the place had been kept warm and comfortable. Such that there was no requirement for a jacket or a coat.
As soon as we entered, we were greeted by their prompt and courteous staff. They guided us to our table since we already had a reservation.
We opted for the buffet so that we could try all their preparations at once.
The restaurant, like other coffee shops, serves multi cuisine food. Ranging from an elaborate Indian spread, with a few vegetarian and non vegetarian starters, along with a lavish main course variety. They have a separate oriental counter that serves freshly prepared dimsums, starters and lovely main course. What I really liked was the "Make your own soup" option they had, in which one could choose the vegetables, type of boiled noodles and flavoring as desired. Apart from this was an even bigger continental counter that served exotic meats and sea food like duck, turkey and prawns. Italian was being prepared live and customized.
My personal favourites here were the dimsums, the "make your own soup", tarkari biryani, dal makhni ,black pepper mushrooms, vegetables in black bean sauce and their thin crust pizzas.
The italian was made very authentically, however the first time I went there I did not appreciate the pasta much, the tomato sauce was somehow not upto the mark, however when I got penne in cheese sauce made, it was to die for.
The second time around, both the sauces were made perfectly well, the pasta was well flavored and in Al dante.
Moral of the story is that this place is not just a delight for the non vegetarians, who can indulge into oriental delicacies like duck rolls and crispy fried prawns,Indian chicken biryani and butter chicken and world cuisine like Roasted Turkey, but also a heavenly experience for Vegetarians.
Their staff was brilliantly trained and very courteous. Our plates would be cleared the moment we would get up for our next serving. They would also serve us at our table when requested. They remember faces and would recognize you by your second visit.
Dining for the elite.
The best part however was their dessert counter that boasted of the best desserts one may ask for. Their creme brulee, baked new york cheesecake, chocolate and peanut bar, masala chai ice cream and a live counter for sweet crepes were all adding to the indulgence quotient for me. I got a blueberry and strawberry one made, topped with whipped cream. Their crepes are not as thin as French crepes, because this is a German crepe which they prepare.
The treat was absolutely sinful.
One may think why they don't serve sushi in their buffet spread, which is one reason why I got disappointed at first, but the management has a logic to it, which is that the hotel has a restaurant "Akira Back" that specialises in Japanese and Korean cuisine.
All in all:
Taste: 5
Ambiance: 5
Service : 5
A must visit!
