Keya
Vasant Kunj
New Delhi

Keya was earlier not known much as Keya but the Bar portion of Kaioosh. Both the places are owned by Chef Maarut Sikka. A culinary genius in Indian Food specially..
So we went to Keya on a saturday night and the place was very crowded. And by that I mean there was no place to even walk after 10 pm.
Luckily we had a table booked for a group of 12 people and we enjoyed the luxury of being seated.
The music was non commercial, more of trance, techno and dubstep. It is the ambiance of the place that makes me so fond of it. It is classy. The bar counters and table tops are made of translucent stone. The place looked exquisite. It has an open area too, with a seating area as well. The place gets brownie points for ambiance and style.
Now for the food. We ordered cheese and jalapeno poppers, pepperoni pizza and chilly paneer for starters. It was undoubtedly extremely well prepared, and despite the crowd, the quality of food did not suffer one bit.
The pepperoni pizza had an appearance one would die for. The chilly paneer was yum and scrumptious. (The dish is not a part of their menu, but when we asked for it they were more than okay to serve it.)
The jalepeno poppers oozed out cheese once we bit into them. So yum food !!
For main course we ordered penne in white sauce with mushrooms and claypot rice with vegetables in blackbean sauce. The dish was served in a ceramic pot. I was impressed by the way it was served, steaming hot. The black bean sauce had a very balanced taste with a pronounced flavour of blackbean. The pasta was slightly bland e though, lacked seasoning I guess. But once we added a little salt, it turned out to be delicious.
All in all
Ambiance: 4 5
