Raasta

Hauz Khaz Village

New Delhi

We went to Raasta as was recommended by a good friend, to go and chill with friends.
The place is in the new Hub of Delhi, i.e. Hauz Khaz Village. When we went there, it took us a while to locate the place correctly, due to heavy construction work happening outside the place, however once we entered, the place seemed nice and lively. It had two kinds of seating areas, one which was completely enclosed and non smoking and one which had some fresh air ventilation and was smoking. The decor was nice and pep. The place is more of the "friends chilling" place rather than the "couples romance" place.
We were very impressed by the service and their patience because we took rather long to order. We ordered a couple of wines, a chilly potato, a chilly chicken and a grilled cottage cheese burger.
The chilly potatoes were nice and yummy. I loved the way it was served in a bowl made out of fried noodles. Their seasoning was good, with just a tinge of sweetness and reasonable chilly to it.
The chicken was nice, juicy and soft inside, and crisp on the outside. Perfectly fried chicken.
However we were slightly let down by the grilled cottage cheese burger, since it was apparently a hot selling item from their menu, but it was rather bland and tasteless once we ate it. I liked their portions though, which made the place reasonable to the pocket.
One more thing that let me down about the place was that their smoking area was not air conditioned well. It could not keep up with Delhi's heat.

Here goes the score:
Food: 3.5
Ambiance: 4
Service: 4.5
